FREE WEDDING DECOR
We have a collection of wedding decor for you to use for free. It's a mix of my own items & previous bride's items. It's kind of a pay it forward wedding decor policy, "Leave something behind for the next bride." We ask but you are not in any way obligated to leave something behind for the next bride! It's for fun. Some people leave a set of chairs for the wedding couples, some people leave large mirrors to write on with chalk ink. Some people leave signage. Some people leave champagne walls! Some people leave table runners. Some people leave candle stick holders. Some people leave nothing and we are okay with that! You might as well repurpose the decor. What else are you going to do with it? I am willing to purchase items from you, too, if they are expensive for you and you are (too frugal! lol) to part with them & leave them behind for free! Please put back the items you use where you found them.
FWD PLACE SETTINGS

If using the FWD place settings, you must let us know in writing who will be cleaning them and putting them back in the place that they were found. This is a bigger undertaking than you may realize. You must ask yourself if you have time or resources to use these items for FREE. If you don't, just buy disposables! If you want to pay for help with cleaning these FWD place setting items, you have the option of using a Strike Crew who will come in and help you get these place settings clean. Payment doesn't go to me! It goes directly to the cleaner that I can find to help you during your reception after you have eaten dinner.
I can no longer let people use these on a promise that they will wash them after they use them. Too many people (who are good people and have good intentions), have left them behind for me to clean and you must realize that we book BACK TO BACK all season long (due to your great venue price!!!) so we only have 6 hours in between bookings and YOU are the one wanting to maximize your rental time at the lodge (you want to come in the earliest and leave the latest) so we only give ourselves 6 hours to clean TO HELP YOU get more rental time, right? So help us help ALL of you get that check-in at 4pm and check-out at 10am by making sure you have this covered. Leaving it for us to clean, hand wash, towel dry, and put away pushes us behind on our schedule and makes us late for the next bride or not everything gets cleaned as well as we would like and we pride ourselves on high standards at COTK. SO, while we do this cool thing for you.....please don't be that disrespectful one wedding couple who thinks they've paid enough for the venue to leave their dirty dishes for me to clean up because it doesn't work like that. Guess what? Doing that just removed the "FREE" part of Free Wedding Decor because guess who had to pay for YOU to use them for FREE! Me! Do you love the idea of getting to not have to pay for renting these dishes??
If you love saving money, thank me and show your appreciation for saving you money by putting them back exactly where you found them and HOW you found them....CLEAN. Remember, the majority of this stuff is nicer and has to be hand washed and hand dried so leave plenty of time if you are not hiring a Strike Crew.
ALASKA SHOTGUN WEDDINGS
Alaska Shotgun Weddings are 1 Day events that do not have time to clean the FWD place settings so these are not included in the FWD for these types of events.
WE HOPE YOU APPRECIATE THE SAVINGS YOU GET BY DOING THIS FOR YOU. IT IS A GIFT FOR CHOOSING OUR VENUE.
DON'T BE THAT ONE WEDDING THAT MADE THE SIGN IN THE KITCHEN, "BANG HEAD HERE!" FOR ME!!! Can you imagine being an owner of a venue who offered something like this? No, you can't. It is a dumb business move..... So when people leave those dishes for me, I ask myself "where is that sign so i can go bang my head there once again!"
EXTRA SECURITY DEPOSIT
If you don't hire a Strike Crew, please Venmo $500 to me (@cusacksonthekenai) for an additional security deposit if you are going to use these without hiring a Strike Crew and then that way I will know you won't dare do that to me. And it's still not okay to just leave it if you send the extra deposit because you must realize that you just put us behind for the next bride to walk in that door excited about her wedding."
STRIKE CREW WITH THE FWD PLACE SETTINGS
The Strike Crew charge using the free wedding decor place settings will be:
- $400 for weddings for up to 25 (24 or less, so <25)
- $625 for weddings for up to 50 (49 or less, so <50)
- $950 for weddings for up to 100 (99 or less, so <100)
- $1225 for weddings for up to 150 (149 or less, so <150)
- $1500 for weddings for up to 200 (199 or less, so <200)
- $2000 for weddings between 199 guests and 250 guests
*Fibbing about your numbers. If you feed other people not considered “wedding attendees” you need to add that to your total count. Please don’t try to fib on this number because the Strike Crew will know as they are washing them! If the Strike Crew cleans more than the amount you discussed, and it goes into the higher bracket by even 1 place setting, you will be billed for the higher amount. This is not the lodge so you aren’t asking me to just cover that one place setting for you. You are paying an outside source so it's not me who you are messing with in being dishonest about the number. This fibbing does happen! Trust me, even with this expense, it is still cheaper than rentals!! RESPECT THE SAVING$! With the Strike Crew, you must pay the agreed amount BEFORE they leave the property so whoever is in charge of the Strike Crew payment….. please tell them....not pull out the "disappearing act” card. Remember the point of this entire thing: to save you money and to save you stress!! REMEMBER THAT WHEN PAYING THIS! It was a deal for what you got! It is a privilege for you by booking this cool venue. Be appreciative! And say thank you for the deal by being honest!
